Interior of the Maison Archive showroom

The Maison

A quiet house for loud histories

Our story

We began by keeping things we could not let go of.

Maison Archive started as a private collection and a bad habit: buying pieces with stories attached and refusing to sell them. Eventually the shelves won. We opened the doors so that other people could keep them properly.

Authentication

Two people look at every piece. They rarely agree the first time.

Each item passes through at least two specialists who work independently before comparing notes: one on construction and hardware, one on materials and records. Where they disagree, the piece waits.

We would rather miss a sale than describe something we cannot stand behind. Every report is written in plain language and delivered with the piece.

An object is not old. It is finished being new.

We keep the wear, the repairs, and the receipts, because those are the parts that make a thing worth passing on.

The Workroom

Restoration that leaves a trace, not a cover-up.

Our specialists use original materials wherever they exist and clearly documented alternatives where they do not. Nothing is refinished to look new, and every intervention is recorded on the piece's report.

You will always know what was done, by whom, and when. That record travels with the piece for the rest of its life.
